Reverse Osmosis Plant

Reverse Osmosis Plant

Overview

Green Nature Solutions designs, fabricates, installs and commissions Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants for a wide range of industrial, commercial and municipal applications. RO is the most widely used membrane-based water purification technology in the world — capable of removing dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, pesticides and other contaminants to produce high-purity water from almost any feed water source.

How Reverse Osmosis Works

Feed water is passed under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane. The membrane allows only pure water molecules to pass through while rejecting dissolved salts, minerals, organic compounds, bacteria and viruses. The purified water (permeate) is collected for use while the concentrated reject water is drained or recycled.

Process Flow

  1. Raw Water Storage – Feed water collected in a raw water storage tank
  2. Pre-Chlorination – Sodium hypochlorite dosing to control biological growth
  3. Multimedia / Sand Filtration – Removes suspended solids and turbidity
  4. Activated Carbon Filtration – Removes chlorine, colour, odour and dissolved organics
  5. Softening (Optional) – Reduces hardness to protect RO membranes
  6. Antiscalant Dosing – Prevents scale formation on membrane surfaces
  7. Cartridge Pre-filtration – Final 5-micron pre-filter before membranes
  8. High-Pressure Pumping – Pressurises feed water to RO operating pressure
  9. RO Membrane Array – Multi-stage membrane modules for salt rejection
  10. Post-treatment – pH correction, UV disinfection, storage and distribution
