Green Nature Solutions Ultra Filtration (UF) systems are membrane-based separation systems that use hollow fibre or spiral wound membranes with pore sizes in the range of 0.001 to 0.1 micron. UF is highly effective at removing suspended solids, colloidal particles, bacteria, viruses, high-molecular-weight organics and turbidity — without the use of chemicals and at low operating pressures.
Feed water is pressurised and passed through the UF membrane at low applied pressure (1–3 bar). The membrane pores are small enough to retain suspended solids, bacteria, protozoa, colloids and macromolecules while allowing water, dissolved salts and small molecules to pass freely as permeate. Since osmotic pressure differences across the UF membrane are negligible, low pressures achieve high flux rates.
